Wireless Automation Engineer Vocera Communications

Scope of Position
Vocera is looking for a top-notch Wireless Automation Engineer with strong footing in wireless 802.11 interoperability testing utilizing automation scripts.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a world-class team responsible for simplifying the testing of Vocera client devices in a number of complex scenarios
- Identify, reproduce, and isolate bugs found via debugging and performance analysis tools
- Assist in corporate wireless client troubleshooting
- Analyze client logs and assist support by utilizing basic debugging techniques
- Design and execute tests for compatibility of 3rd party access points and controllers such as Meru, Cisco, Aruba, and Motorola
- The position requires frequent and close collaboration with AP vendors and Vocera firmware engineers as well as the product management team
- This position would frequently require making recommendations to the engineering staff on findings of the various evaluations and testing of third party technologies. The person needs to be able to work with minimal direction
Education, Skills & Experience
- B.S. CS or EE engineering degree
- 3 to 5 yrs experience in QA environment
- Demonstrated ability to write scripts in a QA environment
- Working knowledge of 802.11 protocols
- Scripting efficiency in java, python, or Perl
- Experience with C++, Embedded Linux, highly desired
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A highly motivated, self-starter and team player
- Good organization skills (detail oriented)
