Post-Doctoral Scientist, Operations ApoCell
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Job Purpose: Responsible for managing and carrying out research projects in support of the development of methods for clinical operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
This person will have the responsibility in conducting and managing daily experiments involving rare cell analysis enriched by novel microfluidic device and immunofluorescent analysis using laser scanning cytometry applications. This person will work closely with senior research scientists, engineers, and technical directors to assist with assay development, project design and execution, and generation of reports. Technical applications include basic cellular laboratory techniques with strong emphasis on immunocytochemistry analytical methods. This person will contribute to generation of scientific abstracts, publications and grant applications. He or she will have an opportunity to overlap with research and development laboratory team. The position requires a good team player, meticulously detailed and organized, can work under pressure and has good oral and written communication skills.
Education ? Minimum Ph.D. in Immunology, Cellular Biology, or related field
Experience ? Zero to 3 years postdoctoral research experience in oncology/immunology, or related fields with a focus on cellular analysis is required; industry experience is preferred
Specialized knowledge ? Translational research experience or track record with publications is strongly preferred
Strong expertise with immunofluorescent and immunohistochemistry applications including flow cytometry and/or microscopy analysis is required
Knowledge of automated laser scanning cytometry or other automated microscopy platforms is preferred
Extensive cell culture experience is required. Experience with rare cell analysis including Circulating Tumor Cells and/or stem cells is a strong plus
Skills ? Good organizational, management and people skills. Outstanding skills with project planning, experimental design, oversight and advanced troubleshooting related to execution of the cellular analysis related projects, documenting and analyzing data and generating detailed reports is required. Good computer skills with mid to advanced level in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe
Abilities ? must be able to communicate effectively with scientists, lab personnel, Project Managers and Company management. Ability to work under pressure and multitask
Working Conditions: Job requires some travel and possible long hours and work in the evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements: Although not physically demanding, reasonably good health is required for this demanding position.
