Power Cylinder Structural and Thermal Design Engineer Achates Power
The Power Cylinder Structural and Thermal Design Engineer is responsible for the design of the cylinder liner assembly and the cylinder block to liner assembly interface within the engine design. The qualified candidate will:Design, analyze and develop the cylinder liner to meet structural requirements
Analyze and develop the liner cooling to meet design thermal requirements
Design, analyze and develop the liner assembly to block interface
Source and procure prototype parts
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or foreign educational equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience with the design, manufacture and development of engine power cylinder components (e.g. pistons, rings, bores, etc.)
Experience with structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS workbench or similar FEA software
Desirable Skills:
Manufacturing experience with cylinder boring, honing and surface texturing
Experience with oil consumption measurement and design variables
Pro/Engineer and Pro/Mechanica software expertise
CFD experience with coolant flow modeling in engines
