Pre Sales Engineer - Mid-Atlantic NetMotion Wireless
The Pre-Sales Engineer - known as a Systems Engineer (SE) - provides technical sales support as the product expert on the Mid-Atlantic Sales Team. The SE is a highly technical sales professional who is responsible for working with their Regional Sales Managers and Inside Sales Executive to drive significant revenue growth within the Mid-Atlantic territory. The SE provides technical sales support during the customer qualification process, pre-sales technical support to prospects during the evaluation process and ongoing technical training to NetMotion resellers, customers and partners within the region.
This is a remote position that is based at or near the DC Metro area. Due to the nature of the role, 50%+ travel is expected. You will report to the Director of Field Engineering.
NetMotion Wireless Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) software gives organizations with mobile workforces the connectivity, visibility and control needed to solve the common challenges of wireless computing. Our software is the only tool on the market that creates and sustains secure connections to enterprise applications over any network, ensuring mobile workers are more efficient and productive. At the same time, it provides detailed visibility into the performance of public and private cellular networks, managed through a centralized control console. This enables enterprises to quickly identify and resolve problems within their mobile deployment, saving time and creating a significant return on their mobile investments.
Your Role as a Key Contributor
As a Systems Engineer you will be expected to quickly come up to speed on the Mobility and Locality products, as well as understand how the software can be deployed across networks and utilizing different types of devices ? including laptops, tablets, handhelds ? that are Microsoft Windows or Android based. Your in-depth knowledge of networking, security, firewalls and operating systems will help you to effectively position our products, while also helping to solve difficult technical problems for potential customers during pre-sales presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.
You will be the technical evangelist for our software in your region, representing the company not just with potential customers but also at partner and reseller trainings, events and trade shows as necessary.
Partner with the Regional Sales Managers (TSM) and Inside Sales Executives (ISE) to establish strategy for sales, technical direction and lead generation for the territory.
Deliver technical sales presentations to prospective customers to ensure appropriate fit with NetMotion products.
Provide training and technical support to NetMotion customers/prospects as well as channel and marketing partners.
Install and configure Mobility and Locality and provide technical support to prospective customers who are evaluating NetMotion products and support them through the evaluation.
Consult with prospective and existing customers regarding appropriate third-party products that are complimentary to NetMotion?s.
Funnel feature requests and product ideas into product management. Assist product management in the developing priorities for the company?s product roadmap.
When necessary, assist NetMotion?s technical support team resolve post-sale customer issues.
Document prospect evaluation status in Salesforce.com.
An in-depth understanding of software and network engineering.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of network/software sales engineering experience working with large enterprise accounts.
A strong foundation in network design, configuration and troubleshooting ? current relevant vendor certification is desirable.
Experience working hands-on installing, configuring and trouble-shooting complex network and/or security products.
A strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and firewalls to be able to understand potential customer environments.
Security experience, particularly with VPN/firewall products and/or services.
CISSP or other security certification as well as experience working with wireless networking, wireless security and/or wireless management products preferred.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to all levels of people, from IT managers to CEO?s; Ability to effectively communicate with and present technical topics to networking and security groups within large IT organizations.
Experience working in verticals such as insurance, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications or other verticals with a large number of mobile field workers preferred.
Use and training in SPIN selling, or similar, is very desirable.
Since you will be remotely based in the Mid-Atlantic region, you must be self-motivated and have a driving personality that helps you to understand when you may need to reach out to others as you need support. You must have worked in a remote/home office previously. Working in a small, start-up company means that you have a lot of freedom in determining your day, but you must be able to consistently align your work to the priorities of your team and the business.
Willing to travel 50%+ of the time.
