Reports to: Vice President of Sales
The Pre-Sales Support Consultant is a key member of the sales organization and instrumental in transitioning a prospect into a successful customer. This position will support Regional Sales teams with a main focus on pre-sales activities, including (but not limited to) technical presentations and demonstrations. This role will be key in helping sales to specify the right products for the opportunity. This individual will also be responsible for putting an evaluation package together and managing the evaluation process and tracking results.
Travel approximately 50% - travel for customer, partner and prospect site visits and demos, product training and site visits within the Eastern United States.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the sales team to provide pre-sales activities such as customized product demonstrations, proof of concepts, benefits, etc?
Develop and deliver technical presentations and technical sales materials along with product demonstrations that highlight product value and benefits
Work with sales to help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities
Become the subject matter expert in all of our technology and solutions, and be able to apply it to prospects and customers' business needs
Support an effective sales process by capturing solution descriptions and mapping client requirements
Configure demo systems to meet demo and prospect requirements
Facilitate on-the-ground and Webex customer/prospect meetings and tracking
Serve as liaison between the sales, product and support teams
Assist sales team in writing, preparing and delivering solution proposals, RFIs and RFPs to the prospect
Consolidate and document customer feedback into functional requirements for product enhancements
Transfer knowledge to Professional Services for products and services to be deployed to a customer after contract signing
Active involvement in the development and execution of pre- and post-sales support process and training
Training and support of Channel Partners
Skills and requirements for success
Bachelor?s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business (with a strong IT background), or other related degrees
3-5 years demonstrated experience as a Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales Solution Role, specifically in a consulting or software vendor capacity
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
Effective communication skills
Excellent writing skills
Experience in Technology Sales and supporting technology
