Pre-Sales System Engineer Security Innovation
Description
Security Innovation is seeking an experienced, hands-on Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to assist in the sales process by providing compelling solutions and proposals to our customers. The SE works closely with our Sales team in executing the technical aspects of the sales process as well as working towards increasing the acceptance, adoption, and usage of company products and services within a client organization. The SE also works with the Marketing department to provide a technical presence in virtual marketing events as well as traveling to industry trade shows to provide technical demonstrations and presentations.
This position requires the ability to deliver technical presentations to application development and security professionals both in person and via phone/web conferencing. The role involves the development and maintenance of strong technical relationships with our customers, partners and engineering team in order to establish new opportunities and support existing ones. Along with pre-sales responsibilities, SEs may also provide deployment assistance to our current customers, partners and prospects and conduct assessments as part of Security Innovations services offerings.
Utilizing relevant, consultative technical sales techniques the Systems Engineer will:
Develop an understanding of the customer's technical business objectives in order to map a strategy consisting of eLearning and knowledge and/or consulting as a solution to those business objectives.
Assist customers with the design and planning of application security computer based training programs complemented with deployment of our eKnowledge solution.
Draft proposals for application security consulting projects in cooperation with and for review by our services group for final scoping and sign off.
Serve as a content generation or review SME (Subject-Matter Expert) for eLearning or eKnowledge content, both for the company and as a learning aid for the SE role.
Assist sales team in responding to RFP's or answering technical questions customers or prospects may have.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working in a technical capacity within a Sales team, with a background in application development or application security including
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux and UNIX
Ability to travel about 30 of time, with 50 travel during peak periods
Knowledge of information security products and techniques, especially source code and web application scanners (a.k.a dynamic and static analysis). Application penetration testing and/or security assurance knowledge is a plus, but not required.
Degree in Computer Science or Technology preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Good teamwork, interpersonal and customer relations skills and strong commitment to customer satisfaction
