Pre-Sales Systems Engineers Mu Dynamics
Mu Dynamics' Systems Engineers are a key member of the sales organization with responsibilities for driving pre-sales technical initiatives within existing and future customers. This position requires outstanding written & verbal communications skills and prior experience working in a similar role for a network or software vendor. Strong technical skills in networking, security, applications and/or protocol design is desired.
Travel: 50 Local, 40 Regional, 10 Corporate
The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in one or more of the following technical domains:
Network & Equipment Manufacturers, including but not limited to:
Development Processes (Agile Development Methodologies)
QA Test Tools & Automation (Ixia, Spirent, scripting, TCL)
Technical Marketing (Test Tools and Customer Proof of Concept Labs)
Service Provider Network Operations, including but not limited to:
Triple-Play Service Delivery (Voice, Video, and Data Protocol expertise)
Next-gen Service Deployment Technologies (LTE, IMS, VoIP, IPTV, WiMAX, NGN)
Deep Packet Inspection & Lawful Intercept
Network Design & Architecture, including but not limited to:
Network Design - (Routing, Switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RIPv2, ACL's)
Network Troubleshooting and Capacity Planning (Wireshark, PCAP)
Network Monitoring
Security Engineering, including but not limited to:
Security Assessment Tools (VA scanning, pen testing, fuzzing)
Network Security (Firewalls, DPI, IPS, IDS)
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and IP based applications and protocols
Strong skills in Unix & Linux environments
Proficient with basic scripting skills; advanced scripting skills a plus
Proficient in Network Manufacturers OS's, including Cisco IOS, Juniper JunOS
Operational experience with security, application-aware and deep packet inspection technologies
Troubleshooting skills for networking and application protocols
Proficient in Ethereal/Wireshark or similar tools and understanding packet flows and application messages
Network / Security certifications, including CCNA, CCIE, JNCIA and or CISSP are a plus
Professional Experience:
3+ years as a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer for a network equipment manufacturer
History of building strong technical relationships in a broad range of customers and at all levels in the organization
Supporting products and or software solutions used during product development and product QA cycles
Supporting products and or software used within Technical Marketing teams
Coordinated, conducted and lead product evaluations, including developing success criteria for technical sales closure
Understands how to bridge business drivers to technical capabilities in a product, for both meetings and proof of concepts deployments
(Driving) technical discussions, including white-boarding sessions, lunch-n-learns and pre-sales technical training to audiences large and small.
