Job Description
A self-motivated Principal Algorithm ASR Developer, individual would be responsible for analyzing and developing speech enhancement algorithms specifically designed to improve the performance of ASR engines in adverse acoustic environments.
Key Responsibilities
The qualified individual would work in collaboration with other team members to develop, modify, and implement algorithms on different platforms (Matlab, C floating point), for the analysis and classification of audio signal streams and computational auditory scene analysis to be applied to the development of Robust Automated Speech Recognition in adverse acoustic environments.
Experience, Skills and Education Required
Principal Algorithm team member with experience in design, development evaluation and optimization of Robust Automated Speech Recognition with particular focus in speech processing, acoustic modeling or statistical modeling in adverse noisy environments.
Experience in analyzing and developing in coordination with other team members audio stream separation or classification (discrimination) algorithms, time-frequency representations (such as wavelet transform), noise suppression algorithms and experience in Human auditory models applied to speech and audio processing.
Demonstrated ability to perform algorithm modifications to include fixed-point and DSP constraints without affecting the algorithm performance.
Experience in managing Automated Speech Recognition engines such as retraining acoustic and language models.
Experience in code maintenance, coding standards and version control.
Ability to specify unit tests and system tests to be used to guarantee the quality of the software integration
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong in Matlab and C/C++ programming.
PhD or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with strong background in fundamental mathematics.
PhD with at least three years experience or MS with ten years experience
