How you?ll be successful at DLX.
As Principal Analyst, you will provide a critical link between the most technical areas of the Datalogix organization and our clients and their support teams. Advanced interpersonal and communications skills, previous exposure to a broad array of organizational disciplines, and deep analytical insight will all be needed to successfully interface daily with external clients, sales, account management, graduate level statisticians, database administrators, operations staff, and product management personnel.
Your performance will be measured by the quality of the analytic work, the effectiveness of the communication created to explain analytical conclusions, and resultant internal and external changes produced by the analyses that are delivered.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide analytic thought leadership across the organization.
Being able to deliver results that exceed client expectations.
Delivering client & campaign-specific analysis needed to establish (or improve) product value, including:
Creation of effective test/control frameworks for offline, digital, & cross-channel campaigns
Evaluation of results from for offline, digital, & cross-channel campaigns
Troubleshooting underperforming output
Improve existing work or author original analyses that advance our ability to interpret results and address challenges that might reduce our ability to deliver outcomes that exceed client expectations.
Create or develop impactful presentations that:
Communicate analytical findings in an intuitive manner,
Overcome sales objections,
Provide compelling recommendations that are supported by well conceived, hard hitting, and pragmatic analysis.
Effectively communicate findings - establishing credibility and rapport with audiences ranging from Analysts & DBAs to Media Planners & Circulation Managers to CMOs & CEOs.
Work with Product Mgmt, R&D, and Engineering groups to generalize and scale the most valuable analytical methods that you have discovered on client or campaign specific analyses.

Here?s a summary of the skills you?ll need for this position:
Education / Work Experience:
BA or BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering with exemplary academic performance. Advanced degree in marketing or quantitative discipline highly desired.
8-10+ years of experience in consumer marketing analytics, preferably for a large retailer, database marketing, or web / marketing analytics firm.
2+ years of experience consulting experience. Focus on quantitative projects and relationship mgmt responsibility preferred.
Technology / Tools:
Passion for and mastery of tools needed to deliver powerful data analysis (SQL, etc.) is required.
Experience working with large datasets (billions of records) strongly preferred.
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel, PowerPoint)
Technical expertise in analytic software, preferably SAS BASE and SAS STAT, and/or R preferred.
Knowledge base (or demonstrated aptitude) needed to automate analysis across applications (SAS, Microsoft Office, Netezza, VBA, etc.) preferred.
Exposure to and understanding of various Web Analytics packages (Omniture, Core Metrics, etc.) preferred.
Skills & Working Style:
Exceptional problem solving skills with unrelenting focus on practical business implications.
