Principal Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis Etsy
Etsy is seeking a Principal Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis, to be based in Brooklyn, NY. Etsy is experiencing global rapid growth and is in the process of building the FP&A team.
About the Job
The position will be key in shaping Etsy?s long-term plans by building out and owning our financial planning infrastructure and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
The position requires an experienced financial professional capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fluid organization. The individual must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must be able to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries. S/he must be highly organized and skilled at creating structures and definition in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous ? for a young but rapidly growing business.
Building out and maintaining bottoms-up, 3-statement financial model in Adaptive Insights and working to keep forecasts and scenarios fresh via partnership with the Senior Manager, FP&A.
Analyzing strategic initiatives including: performing financial modeling for new business development, cost saving projects, capital expenditure evaluation, competitive analyses, profitability, and new business acquisitions.
Assisting in preparing written documents, presentations, valuation presentations and transaction materials.
Perform financial due diligence on potential acquisition targets including verifying accuracy of provided financial data, reviewing contracts, providing variance analysis.
Perform analyses relating to debt, leasing, capital structure and equity.
Develop a base of operational metrics to monitor and review, and identify and monitor business risk and opportunities.
The successful candidate is a finance nerd and an analyst at heart, willing and eager to dive deep and understand the ins and outs of Etsy. The ideal candidate will champion advancement of financial planning tool, systems and controls that will enhance Senior Management decision-making.
Ten (10+) plus years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including five+ years experience in financial planning and business analysis or corporate finance.
Firm-grasp of GAAP and experience serving a company with $200+ million revenues; strong familiarity with e-Commerce and technology is a plus.
Strong financial modeling capabilities, including valuation, pro-forma financial modeling and discounted cash flow methodologies.
Data and process enthusiast, ready to build, improve, and iterate on our models, reporting, and planning systems.
Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills; strong grasp of business concepts and demonstrated superior judgment.
Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills developed through frequent interaction with senior management.

Bachelor?s degree from four-year college or university is required; Business, Economics, Math or Engineering undergrad majors preferred. MBA, CPA and/or CFA or equivalent certification, is a plus.
Expert-level Excel skills. Training-the-street-level know-how will be prized.
Comfortable with navigating databases, querying and data wrangling. SQL knowledge, or demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn.
Experience with Adaptive Planning suite (aka Adaptive Insights) is a plus
