Principal Engineer, Communications Systems Ethertronics

The Company:Ethertronics is an established company with a solid foundation in passive antenna products. The company has now developed a line of active products and is working towards broader RF/antenna solutions. A considerable base of technology has been developed that needs further development with respect to system impacts. This position will work as an architect around these designs as well as implementation into products.
Position Description:
This position is providing the technical leadership for Ethertronics communications systems design activities.
The engineer will be responsible for analyzing and developing system solutions using the technology base Ethertronics has developed and innovating further solutions. All of the applications for these designs are for mobile devices; primarily mobile phones.
The engineer should be able to work with limited supervision. Further, the engineer will be involved in and have input to project planning.
This development will include communications system analysis for various standards and protocols with respect to the designs developed by Ethertronics.
The engineer will also be responsible for algorithm development and testing.
Analysis and design will be done through both simulation and testing on prototypes and commercial products.
The engineer is also expected to have technical discussions with partners and customers about the Ethertronics technologies and products. These discussions would be supported by documentation and presentations developed by the engineer.
The engineer should have the ability to coordinate system design in specific projects.
Requirements:
Knowledge of wireless data system design, including multiple 3G/4G air interfaces: WCDMA, WiMAX, LTE, WLAN, etc.
Knowledge of 3G/4G standards documents is a plus
Develop signal process algorithms for WCDMA, CDMA, & OFDM signals
Conduct C/C++ and Matlab simulations to study systems performance under various multipath-fading channel propagation conditions
Implement and verify advanced signal processing
Verify product performance using commercial test equipment and field testing
Model and simulate digital communications links
Knowledge of RF system fundamentals: Digital radio transceiver and performance metrics, including knowledge of multi-antenna algorithms.
Ability to troubleshoot wireless systems and real-time embedded software, using in-depth knowledge of test, measurement, and lab analysis techniques. Knowledge of modern DSP architectures and development environment is required
Qualifications:
Must have a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
5 to 7 years of direct work experience desired.
