AtTask, Inc., a leading provider of project management software has an opening for a Principal Engineer to assist in the innovation and design of its award-winning application. The Principal Engineer plays a key role in shaping AtTask?s technology strategy by applying expertise in platform architecture and strategic analysis.

Responsibilities:

Drive the evolution of infrastructure, processes, products, and services to provide a highly scalable and perfomance solution
Break complex technical issues into smaller, concrete tasks to be organized into a technical plan/roadmap
Provide system-wide technical leadership
Lead a small team, and work closely with the production operations and database teams, focused on scalability, performance and reliability of the AtTask platform
Produce high level technical designs to meet identified technical requirements
Mentor and coach other engineers, motivating and guiding employees to stretch and expand their capabilities.
Think strategically and plans tactically


Qualifications:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
12+ years Java development experience
Expertise with JBoss and J2EE technologies
Experience building highly-scalable, web-based, fault-tolerant systems capable of 99.99% uptime, etc.
Team-Lead/Mentoring experience
Previous experience making technical design-related decisions
Web development experience (JS/CSS/AJAX)
Experience in SaaS model software delivery
