Principal Engineer RF Design (ENG13004) Nitronex
Highly experienced engineer responsible for the design of discrete RF/MMIC products on Nitronex?s unique GaN-on-Silicon process. This position will drive the design and development of new products through pre-production. This engineer is able to work independently while receiving general administrative direction of the technical task. Responsible for ensuring designs use best practices, all available information, and company ISO protocols to assure first pass design success.
Hands on design of RF discrete/MMIC devices to customer specifications.
Design, test, and document PCB applications boards.
Provide technical leadership to development teams and technical staff on RF related tasks.
Generate models of products for internal and customer use with appropriate documentation.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering challenges, program objectives and requirements, organizing programs, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Interact with other key engineers and decision makers both internally and externally.
Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced designers in proper design techniques.
Write and hold design reviews that meet the highest standards.
Write test reports, including the design details, test results and lessons learned.
Routinely follow ISO9001 quality standards.
US Citizen or Permanent Residency required.
Demonstrated ability to incorporate both established and cutting-edge industry standards into new designs and share knowledge with the design team.
Familiar with PCB materials, layout, and fabrication technologies.
Experience and understanding appropriate use of electromagnetic simulation (Sonnet, Axiem, Momentum etc.)
Experience with resolving model to measured results.
Able to communicate effectively with management, peers and customers through design reviews and on during daily interactions.
Experience with compound semiconductor devices (GaN, GaAs, HBT, etc.) and knowledge of FET design and layout.
Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
Able to work independently and give direction to junior engineers and technicians.
Extremely strong sense of urgency and willing to put in the extra effort and hours as needed in a fast paced start-up environment.
High level of experience using microwave simulation software (ADS or MWO).
Extensive experience with testing and tuning power amplifiers devices, specifically load pull.
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 10-12 years experience; or Four-year college degree in a related discipline or a technical field with 15-20 years experience in the RF semiconductor industry.
Reports to the VP of Engineering, interfaces with other engineering department employees, management personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives to complete the work at hand.
