Job Title: Principal Imaging Scientist
Reports To: Associate Director, Imaging Sciences
The Principal Imaging Scientist is responsible for biomedical imaging within the Avid Imaging Sciences department. This position is responsible for performance, analysis, and interpretation of PET procedure and data, development of new image analysis routine when needed, clinical imaging and design (phase 1-3), close interaction with scientific teams in imaging operations, and preclinical development and preparation of manuscripts, study reports and scientific presentations.
Develop and deploy innovative image analysis tools to support clinical development of diagnostic imaging agents.
PET, SPECT, and MRI imaging, scanner performance evaluations, tracer kinetic modeling, image quality assessment, validation and implementation of statistical analyses, methods for multimodality image registration, and methods for automated image analysis.
Assist in the evaluation of tracer behavior in early clinical development.
Work with collaborators, including imaging specialists or imaging device companies and clinical center counterparts, to develop and validate quantitative models for analysis of imaging data.
Coordinate efforts of cross-functional project teams to support achievement and to manage study issues and obstacles; ensure consistent use of study tools and training materials and compliance with standard processes, policies, and procedures; implement continuous improvement activities for assigned projects.

Ph.D. preferred with strong background in image processing and analysis.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, CRO, or related industry and academia.
Experience in development of analytical methods and programming (MATLAB or C) skills for data acquired from multi-modalities including PET/SPECT/MRI.
The ability to critically assess the technical quality of PET scans is necessary, including an understanding of the acquisition and tomographic reconstruction processes at a level sufficient to diagnose imaging technical problems and provide corrective guidance.
Working knowledge of functional neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, cardiology, or oncology.
Relationships with lead imaging scientist at major imaging research centers in the world is a plus.
