Summary:
Architect solutions to a set of technological specification. Creates software specifications and prototypes, and works with the software developers to create products based on those specifications. Maintains awareness of the latest industry trends and technologies, and provides technical advice to other departments. Operates with limited supervision, with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:

Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent, advanced degree desirable
Experience:
10 years development experience
Skills:
High-level knowledge of company's software development design procedures and objectives
Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills
Very strong programming skills (Javamust, C/C++/C#)
Knowledge of Databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
Knowledge of cryptography / security
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of Agile process
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of WebServices is desired
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for design/architect software systems according to proposed strategic direction and marketing requirements by providing technical solution for the challenging markets and requirements.
Socialize designs with team and integrates suggestions and changes as appropriate
Unit test software components to ensure module-level functionality and data structure consistency.
Conceive, propose, and sell new ideas in engineering and product managements which are relevant to SafeNet?s markets and result in product innovation and/or patent proposals
Participate in design and implementation/code reviews of other team members
Provide documentation as appropriate including design documentation, inputs for external specifications; system requirements specifications and end user documentation
Independently manage time and prioritizes tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
Resolve issues found during engineering test in a timely manner, taking risk into account
Responsible for the product architecture; provides technical direction with respect to system definition
Consistent use of group tools for tracking of defects and management of code
Implement code in a timely fashion and with high quality, consistent with standards for the group
Provide technical direction in areas of specialty
Communicate with customers on strategic accounts as necessary
Provide work assistance to lower level engineers
Remain abreast of current technological progress to ensure company's products remain marketable and
competitive
