Architects and designs complex components/interfaces/APIs of solutions that serve the Enterprise Key Management and High Performance Crypto Services market. Creates architecture specifications, user-stories and prototypes, and works with the software developers to create products based on those requirements. Maintains awareness of the latest industry trends and technologies, and provides technical advice to other departments. Operates with limited supervision, with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent, advanced degree desirable
7 to 10 years software development experience
Project Lead experience desirable
5+ years of experience on enterprise server development.
Solid core Java programming skill is a must. Experience with C/C++ is a plus.
3-5 years of experience in relational database design and performance tuning ? Postgre sql is a plus.
3-5 years of experience with system High Availability design and implementation.
Experience in working with Unix/Linux development environments required
Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (Data Center Design, Networking, System Architecture Virtualization (Amazon Web services, Open Stack, VMware), Systems Management, Security) is a plus.
Must be flexible with architecture ideas and have a strong ?can-do? attitude that fits in with product delivery without getting stuck on a particular technology stack.
Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills and the ability to motivate the team to excel.
Prior experience with KMIP, Key Management, and Cryptography concepts is a plus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Socialize designs with team and integrate suggestions and changes as appropriate.
Implement code in a timely fashion and with high quality, consistent with standards for the group. This is applicable mostly to the Principal Engineer.
Unit test software components to insure module-level functionality and data structure consistency.
Provide documentation as appropriate including design documentation, comments in code, inputs for External Specifications, Software Requirements Specifications, and end-user documentation.
Resolve issues found during engineering test and QA in a timely manner, taking risk into account.
Principal Engineer has technical or some managerial responsibility for leading a project; provides technical direction in areas of specialty.
Architect has responsibility for the product architecture; provides technical direction with respect to system definition.
Conceives, proposes, and sells new ideas in engineering and guides their implementation.
Participate in design and code reviews of other team members.
Consistent use of group tools such as Confluence for documentation, Jira/Fisheye/Git for tracking of defects and management of code.
Provides work assistance to lower level engineers
Independently manage time and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
