About the teamWe have a team of very smart and talented software development and quality engineers working on several products across a variety of platforms. We are an agile shop, and Engineering works very closely with Operations and our Product Owners.
We have a significant existing codebase but are also adding to it rapidly with new technologies throughout the tech stack. We need someone who dreams about how to implement performance and scalability testing across a variety of large and rapidly growing platforms.
About the job
This Principal Performance Engineer is the foundation of our Performance Engineering team. Responsibilities include:
Designing the performance and scalability testing strategy across all of GSN Digital
Implementing the strategy, leaning heavily on automation
Understanding and consulting on existing and evolving system architectures
Working closely with our web, platform, mobile and games teams to champion the cause and raise awareness of best practices
Working with Product Owners, Operations, and Engineering to determine performance and scalability requirements
Presenting test results to team members and stake holders, including recommendations for improvement.
Active participant in Agile development process
About you
You can immediately jump into our fast-paced engineering team and come up to speed quickly. You?re easy to work with, and enjoy working with people and technology. In addition, you have:
Established automated performance testing skills.
Experience defining, implementing and executing performance and scalability tests and test frameworks across front end and back end systems (Web UIs, Web Services, API-level testing, etc).
Strong communication skills.
Worked with one or more of the industry-standard load testing tools, and ideally have an understanding of the pros and cons of each.
