Job Description:
Sr. Performance Engineer responsible for constant improvement of performance, scalability, reliability, and diagnosability of Good Technology mobile collaboration solutions. This includes: Discovering and diagnosing performance, scalability, and reliability (PSR) issues.
Development and running PSR tests, analyzing results and driving efforts for fixes and optimizations.
Troubleshooting and resolving blocking PSR issues regardless if they are found in the test bed, third party software, or the product itself.
Troubleshooting and resolving critical performance and reliability issues raised by customers.
Supporting pre sales and consulting engineers with capacity planning, performance testing and tuning services.
Sharing system administration duties for the Performance Engineering lab .
Producing customer facing technical reports, memos and design documents.
Introducing and enforcing Performance Engineering best practices .
Required technical skills listed in order of priority:
Broad knowledge of enterprise IT performance engineering
Expert knowledge of enterprise applications performance testing and monitoring methods and tools
Broad understanding and experience with core Microsoft technologies and enterprise IT solutions
Broad understanding of Networking and Internet protocol suite
Working knowledge of C/C++ or Java
Working knowledge of scripting languages and automation
Working knowledge of UNIX
At least 3 years of relevant job experience as a performance Engineer
Desired technical skills:
Experience with Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino design, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance
Knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES)
Required personal skills and qualifications listed in order of priority:
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Can do attitude. You are a problem solver, not a problem mover.
Attention to details. Required for tasks execution and results analysis.
Ability to act independently and be a team player
Ability to multitask and time management skills
Strong documentation skills including experience with writing proposals and statements of work
Good oral and written communication skills
Leadership and project management experience
Ability to work under pressure
BA or BS degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience
