Axeda Corporation, the global provider of the most advanced cloud-based service and software for managing connected products and implementing innovative M2M applications, is looking for a passionate, creative, motivated Principal Security Software Engineer to join the world's leading M2M Platform development team. In this position, you will enjoy a very high profile role in the R&D organization overseeing all security related aspects of the platform, tools and related products. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and implementation of scalable enterprise systems using Java. The candidate will also have prior experience in working on security related aspects of systems. Prior experience in the design/development of a Cloud/SaaS platform is a big plus.Responsibilities/Duties:
Actively work with the team on the design and implementation of platform and product features using Java and other JVM based languages.
Responsible for ensuring security related integrity for all new product initiatives and enhancements across the board.
Identify, troubleshoot and mitigate any security related issues across the board.
Establish best practices and must-haves for security by working cross functionally with the various R&D teams, QA and Operations team
Work closely with the Chief Engineers/Architects and upper management to influence the architecture of the platform and related products.
Mentor junior team members and assist them with the implementation of chosen technologies.
Required Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills:
Prior experience designing and implementing highly scalable and secure enterprise systems.
Hands-on coding experience on enterprise backend systems and platforms using Java and JVM based languages.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good presentation skills.
Prior experience in any of the following areas: Authentication and Access Control, Cryptography, Secure communications, Secure coding guidelines
Good understanding of security vulnerabilities such as: DoS, MITM attacks, XSS, CSRF as well as the means to identify and mitigate these vulnerabilities.
Strong knowledge of database technologies and security related aspects of databases
Nice to have Skills and Experience:
CISSP certification (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is desirable.
Prior experience working on SaaS and cloud based platforms
Exposure to C++
Exposure to OAuth, OpenID, TLS, SAML, JAAS, SSO and other security related standards
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related technical discipline
8+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex and highly scalable enterprise software systems
Security certification is a big plus
