As a Windows Agent Principal Software Engineer, you are responsible for and working with other engineers to design and deliver software components and tools to enhance the Digital Guardian product line. Digital Guardian is a full-featured information protection solution with capabilities that extend into other enterprise software areas such as application remediation, monitoring, and anti-malware.
Work with product management to clarify requirements for new and current software projects.
Create design documents for new features and products.
Implement new features for the Windows Agent (primarily in User Mode but also working in the kernel when needed).
Perform development and unit testing of product modules.
Debug and fix issues currently in the product.
Work with QA to identify issues.
Work with support engineers to address customer issues.
Develop a thorough understanding of the product.
Keep up-to-date with latest developments in the Windows Operating systems.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 8+ years? software development experience.
Familiarity with the internals of the Windows operating system
HTTP protocol, sockets, etc.
XML, processing, etc.
Character encoding, internationalizing
Windows API (user mode)
Threads, processes, modules
Characterize and resolve performance issues
Experience with various API interception
Familiarity with Sysinternals tools like Procmon etc.
Troubleshooting and debugging skills
Design, implement, and debug kerneldriver software
Experience in file system design
Self-directed; requires minimal supervision on work projects
Willingness to proactively interact with the team and achieve results in a dynamic small company environment
