Summary:
The Software Engineer will have experience with requirement analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. The Software Engineer must have the ability to communicate directions and provide guidance to junior programmer/analysts.
Qualification Requirements:
Clearance: TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years experience in Software Engineer/Development
Required Skills:
Minimum 8 years developing software using Java. At least 6 years of this experience must have been obtained in the last 8 years
Minimum 6 years developing software for UNIX and Linux operating systems.
Experience planning, accomplishing goals, complicated tasks, and providing consultation on complex projects as top-level contributor or specialist
Implementation of Web Services and Web Services clients (i.e. SOAP, REST, Spring, Apach AXIS)
At least 8 years in programming and development of application software for complex systems and software testing
Experience architecting, designing, developing, testing, and supporting integration of software systems with functional requirements
Experience "wrapping" legacy systems or components as Web Services within a SOA framework
Developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products
Developing of Framework infrastructure and services within one of the SOA design patterns
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of service-based Framework infrastructure and services
Developing of custom adapters allowing the integration of legacy (i.e., capabilities not developed as services) capabilities with service-based Framework infrastructure and services
At least 2 years experience using Spring
Experience manipulating XML using Java and/or XSLT
Experience developing server software for use in a Linux environment
Experience in server-side Java development
Desired Skills:
Experience in development within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
Experience architecting, designing, developing, testing, and supporting integration of Hadoop and MapReduce frameworks
Experience working with relational databases (i.e. MySQL, Oracle)
Experience with version control using Subversion
Basic understanding of testing with JUnit
Familiarity with JMS
Familiarity with MongoDB
Experience developing with Maven
1+ year experience developing software in support of a TURBULENCE project
1+ year of experience with near real-time software application development
Essential Duties & Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following:
Full lifecycle application development
Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
Software modeling and simulation
Front end graphical user interface design
Software testing and quality assurance
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
Support, maintain and document software functionality
Integrate software with existing systems
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Project Planning and Project Management
Maintain standards compliance
Implement localization or globalization of software
Prepares comprehensive test plans
Conduct tests, identifies and debugs relatively simple problems
Provides test results and recommends more complex corrections to senior developers
Codes enhancements and supports features
Participates in writing product and user documentation
Other duties as assigned
