Job DescriptionAs a Principal Software Engineer, you will work on the storage and virtualization team, reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering. As part of a team of 30+ experienced software engineers, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Actifio's object storage file system, as well as designing and implementing new projects within the fields of data storage, virtualization and replication. You will collaborate with the team to design, implement, and test new functionality and extend existing features. We are a small team of engineers, so you will interact extensively with other software engineers and QA engineers, as well as with product management and field engineers.

Responsibilities/Key Task
Design and implement code for new solutions and unit tests in the storage layer
Enhance and maintain existing body of code
Respond to and promptly resolve issues and defects raised by QA and customers
Record and communicate design decisions and plans
Collaborate with other teams on product design and test planning
Requirements/Qualification
Preferred candidates will have experience in at least one of the following relevant areas:
Networked storage or application protocols, including security, performance tuning and optimization
2+ years experience in software development
Experience in at least one software product life cycle through design, implementation, and customer deployment
Linux or other Unix-ish OS familiarity
Desirable Skills
Quantitative approach to algorithm design and analysis
Implementation of file systems, volume management, storage virtualization or storage device drivers
C or C++, Linux programming
