Principal Software QA Engineer – Data Computing Appliance Engineering Greenplum

Key Areas of Responsibility
Collaborate effectively with Product Development, Product Management, Performance Engineering, and other Global Test organizations in developing a comprehensive QA Strategy for the DCA.
Develop and drive innovative testing solutions that meet market and business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Perform effective root cause analysis to narrow down problem areas, across the many and varied components of the appliance, such as servers, network, storage switches and devices, and their complex interactions.
Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Science related field with 7+ years experience in QA
• Deep familiarity with working effectively in a distributed Unix (primarily Linux) environment
• Strong Operating System troubleshooting skills
• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP fundamental and theory
• Expert knowledge of SNMP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH protocol
• Experience with configuring and analyzing L2/L3 switch technologies
• Understanding of DBMS fundamentals with working knowledge of SQL
• Strong QA experience in functional, fault tolerant and system level testing
• Test automation experience using perl and/or python
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to write clear and concise test design documents
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast paced environment with little guidance

Desirable Experience

• Experience in virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Xen
• Experience in automated testing of web services and GUI technologies such as Flex and HTML5/Javascript
