Position Description
The Principal Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing a manual and automation test strategy, designing test tool harnesses, and writing test plans for the Newegg family of websites and associated applications, web services, as well as associated tools and applications.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing a manual and automation test strategy, designing test tool harnesses, and writing test plans for the Newegg family of websites and associated applications, web services, as well as associated tools and applications.
This engineer will apply the principals of ?smart testing? aka risk based testing, manual testing, integration testing, black box testing, white box testing, functional testing, regression testing, security testing, performance testing and other good QA practices while being hands on and ensuring testing is being done in parallel with test planning and development.
Other duties may include researching and making recommendations on testing tools. This Quality Engineer is a senior contributor and expected to work as an integral part of the Development team.
Perform other engineering duties as required.
Qualifications:
8+ years of QE or development experience
Solid Quality Engineering skills
Strong programming experience with SQL
Knowledge of database concepts
Familiarity with SQL Server, relational and non-relational datbases
Deep knowledge of XML and data transformation
Familiarity with Ajax, CSS, XSLT, HTML/HTML5, Javascript
Familiarity with Selenium, Test Complete, Zeta Test, or similar test automation tools
Familiarity with NeoLoad, Glowcode or similar performance test tools
Familiarity with nUnit, jUnit or similar unit test tools
Experience in designing and developing test automation
Manual testing skills
Familiarity with testing web sites
Familiarity with testing content management systems, data warehouses, DB ports
Performance testing, Load testing, Security testing, functional testing skills
Strong communication skills with good written and verbal skills
Ability to work well with others
Flexibility, Innovation
Experience in performing testing within an Agile SDLC with Scrum framework
Proficient with Java and .NET 2.0 framework, technology products
B.S. in computer science, computer information systems, math or equivalent required.
