Sensage has a large (and growing) set of partners in North America/EMEA. We are looking for a US-based Solutions Consultant to be the primary interface with these partners, promoting Global programs that drive aggressive targets and increase our overall Channel business in 2012. This role teams with our Director of North American/EMEA Channels to recruit, train and enable a successful channel.
This Sensage sales support position reports to the Vice President of Solutions Engineering and Emerging Markets, and has responsibility to work closely with other stakeholders across internal organizations.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications
CS or EE degree, or other baccalaureate degree with extensive related experience
CISSP/ISSEP or equivalent
Experience
5+ years experience in a related sales engineering, post sales support or
IT consulting role
5-7+ years enterprise software/ IT industry experience
demonstrated over goal performance in a direct and channel capacity
demonstrated market knowledge and technical success in the EMEA theater
experience in selling or marketing enterprise information security software
applications or database platforms
experience in creating or contributing technical content to formal proposals
and sales presentations
experience with knowledge transfer process to enabled partners
experience in a related role in successful startups of < 100 person
Skills and Abilities
effective written and spoken consultative sales skills, both for executive and technical audiences
proven ability to identify the critical needs in large and complex accounts and use a solution selling process to position a given product to meet those needs
very strong persuasive skills
hands-on experience with RedHat Linux, SQL, Perl (RegEx), and various security products
comfort working with the command line is a must
familiarity with and ability to discuss one or more of the following areas
including the players, products & concepts:
- RDBMS, data warehousing and data mining/reporting
- security information and event management
- business intelligence solutions
- network operations/management
- systems log analysis
- compliance/audit reporting
- parallel, distributed and client/server computing
highly professional and ethical manner with coworkers and customers
up to 50% travel mainly to European countries
ability to represent channel needs ? enable them and provide constant feedback back to HQ on best approach for progress
As the technical point person, you will primarily conduct pre-sales activities, including:
presentations and product demos;
channel partner presentations and product demos;
lead prospect/customer technical discussions;
respond to RFI/RFPs;
conduct and manage product evaluations and pilot deployments;
manage the technical aspects of the sales cycle and account relationship;
effective handoff to consulting engineers for detailed solution design and implementation;
occasional hands-on assistance with implementation team.
