Summary:
Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel performing development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
Experience:
Nine or more years experience overseeing system development activities
Or equivalent:
Ph.D. 4 years of experience
MS and 6 years general experience
AA and 10 years of experience
No degree 12 years experience

Skills:
The systems engineers must be able to design and coordinate large and complex projects. The systems engineer will work at various levels in the design and coordination of the system. The systems engineer is responsible for coordinating the work of other engineers and work with the team to solve complex problems. The systems engineer must be able to gather all the necessary information/requirements about what is needed in a system. They will select several possible ways of designing the system and through systems analysis will determine the best solution.

Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The selected individual will
Interface with stakeholders to gather requirements
Conduct requirements analysis
Conduct and support end-to-end systems design and systems integration
Develop or manage development of interface control documentation (ICDs)
Create or manage test planning, test and reporting
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Scope of Responsibility:
As determined by the project size and requirements
Contacts:
Daily meetings with customer and project team.
Physical Demands:
Sitting in front of a computer on a daily basis
Working Conditions:
General office environment. Work site may be within government facilities.
