This Principal Technical Writer role at ExtraHop offers a unique opportunity to guide the growth of ExtraHop knowledge management while immediately improving user experience through quality documentation.
Drive the development of all knowledge-management processes at ExtraHop:
Oversee ExtraHop?s internal, customer-facing, and partner-facing technical knowledge base, training materials, and product documentation.
Establish internal processes and frameworks by which new technical content is created, updated, reviewed, and published.
Closely monitor and pull reports on content gaps and then create actionable plans to resolve those gaps.
Work with internal stakeholders to identify knowledge-management needs and develop and implement a coherent knowledge-management strategy.
Identify tools and technologies to effectively support knowledge-management processes within and between organizations.
Develop an internal knowledge organization whereby users can find available information effectively.
Participate in the ongoing development of the internal processes for the ExtraHop Technical Publications team:
Establish and communicate internal technical-documentation review procedures.
Train team members on new processes and technologies.
Review technical-writing deliverables and other work produced by team members to ensure quality and consistency for all ExtraHop documentation.
Review candidates and provide training for new Technical Publications team members as needed.
Advocate high-quality written communications and effective knowledge sharing across all teams at ExtraHop:
Educate and coach ExtraHop personnel and facilitate the culture of a knowledge-based organization.
Promote best practices in knowledge usage and knowledge sharing across ExtraHop.
Support other teams at ExtraHop as needed to ensure high-quality documentation and publications, particularly for customer-facing materials.

Do you have what it takes to hit the ground running at ExtraHop as Principal Technical Writer with a focus on knowledge management? We would like to hear how you would be a great fit as we look for a candidate with the following experience:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent
5+ years of technology-related experience, preferably in enterprise IT management and networking
5+ years of technical-writing experience
Ability to translate technical information into content that can be understood easily by the end user
Enthusiasm for producing engaging, informative documentation while adhering to high quality standards
2+ years of knowledge-management experience or equivalent
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience creating cross-departmental knowledge-management systems
Familiarity with change-management best practices
Experience rallying an organization around key initiatives and driving them to completion via collaboration and indirect influence
Successful track record overseeing technical-knowledge content creation, delivery, and maintenance in a fast-paced technical-services environment
Strong project-management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and workloads to meet aggressive timelines
Deep understanding of and enthusiasm for the tools of the trade
Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Google Docs
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Acrobat
Experience using Madcap Flare a plus
Hands-on experience publishing content on Google Sites
Experience implementing collaboration and publication tools
Ability to adapt to new tools and environments quickly
Proven experience as a self-starter with a can-do attitude
Excellent attention to detail
