THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Workdayâs Production Infrastructure team supports over 10,000 servers, more than 2,500 networking devices, in 6 global data centers. The team is composed of Data Center Engineers, System Engineers, and Network Engineers spanning multiple offices from Pleasanton, CA to Dublin, Ireland. Our mission is to focus 100% on Production Operations by helping the business deliver new products and features, supporting the growing customer base, and maintaining day-to-day operational support across all facets of the data center.
About the Role
â¢ You will be developing, implementing and supporting complex network solutions, primarily focused on the WAN side; this role is a blend of an architectural and hands-on work.
â¢ Must have an obsession to create the most optimal customer experience. This is essential. You need to be the type of person who will lose sleep over customers having a poor experience using our service, and wonât sleep until we solve the problem.
â¢ Establish peering relationships with key customers and service providers.
â¢ Focus on content delivery networks (like Akamai) to improve the overall performance of the Workday service.
â¢ Daily interacting with tools to monitor, manage, and optimize bandwidth usage.
â¢ Owning the relationship between Workday and our multiple ISPs, including procuring and turning up/down circuits as required.
â¢ Provide support for any team in Workday needing better understanding of WAN performance and/or problem resolution.
â¢ Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-oriented production environment, preferably across multiple data centers.
â¢ Extensive knowledge of Juniper products, focused on the MX and SRX series devices.
â¢ Large scale WAN/Backbone/ISP environment experience.
â¢ Solid grasp of BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, CDN, Wan Acceleration, and related networking concepts, with the ability to setup, monitor, and troubleshoot.
â¢ Superior analytics skills, with the ability to identify statistical trends in the Network and design tests to prove out concepts to increase the performance of our service globally.
â¢ Fantastic communication and presentation skills; this role will be interacting with Workday Executives and Workday Customers.
â¢ Handle multiple projects and tasks, make decisions and solve problems while under pressure, and prioritize and organize effectively.
â¢ Strong interpersonal skills to self-lead your day-to-day activities and build relationships with the extended organization
â¢ Minimum of 12+ years in a Network Engineering role (Architect level preferred).
â¢ Ability to travel; infrequent domestic and international travel will be required.
BS degree or equivalent experience
