Principle Integration Engineer Silverlink Communications

The Principle Integration engineer will work independently as a main resource within the Custom Engineering organization to design and develop solutions and tools in Java and SQL that will be used internally as part of our growing customer integration
ETL platform. In this role, the engineer will also be involved in developing custom integration solutions for our key customers.
We are looking for a technically strong individual who has experience with complicated systems with complex software and
integration solutions. The engineer will work closely with the other integration engineers throughout the development and
deployment lifecycle.
Duties will include creating and maintaining new features and frameworks for the T3/BETL applications. The engineer must be
highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with team members dedicated to ensuring the highest level of
quality in our product.
Key Responsibilities:
? Take ownership on some of the major projects and responsibilities of the Custom Engineering group.
? Be the ?go to person? for technical expertise in Java and SQL
? Key contributor for the overall system architecture and long term technology vision for the team.
? Review and contribute to requirements and designs to ensure quality at the start of the development lifecycle.
? Design, develop, enhance and execute comprehensive projects based on Customer/Internal requirements.
? Analyze, document, and implement system change requests (defects, enhancements, new features, production patches).
? Must be flexible in accommodating customer requirements and possess a drive to provide a high level of customer
service, which includes working flexible schedules that can be dictated by enterprise support issues.
? Must be able to operate independently, correct issues and improve the environment.
? Must be able to relate technical issues and requirements to business issues and vice versa and be able to communicate
these to non-technical associates and customers.
? Evaluate new technologies to improve our tools and capabilities.
? Mentor team members.
Required Skills/Background/Experience:
? Strong Java and SQL skills are a must, preferably with MS SQL Server. At least 7 years for both.
? Experience with Java application performance tuning.
? Experience developing client/server software products for a fast growth company.
? Experience in developing plug-in technologies is a plus.
? Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle including: Requirements gathering, Design, Development,
Unit testing, Performance testing and Integration testing.
? Experience developing ETL products is a plus.
? Experience in working with small dynamic software engineering teams.
? Familiarity with data transfer methods (e.g. FTP, SFTP, FTPS) and Encryption methods (e.g. PGP, GPG. ASC) is a plus
? Project Management experiences a plus.
? Some knowledge of XML and HTML is preferred.
? Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills.
? Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
? Excellent team collaboration skills.
? 4-year degree in computer science or related field.
? Must possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise level environments, being able to logically
step through issues and troubleshoot problems by thinking outside of the box and being creative with your solutions.
