Process Development Associate Argos Therapeutics
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED After having met several important milestones, including exciting clinical data, Argos Therapeutics is poised for new strategic objectives which will require significant new resources. Those new resources include several Process Development Associates.
Argos Therapeutics, Inc. produces personalized dendritic cell therapies. For each patient, a therapy is created using the patient?s own biological samples. These therapies are currently manufactured for phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials. Process Development Associate positions are available for both the Molecular Biology and Cellular programs to test process improvements and develop automated methods for commercial manufacturing of these products. This testing will involve isolating and amplifying nucleic acids using PCR methods and other molecular biology techniques from representative disease samples or processing white blood cell collections to isolate monocytes and culture these cells to generate the monocyte-derived dendritic cells.
Assist in the design, testing and implementation of processes, and equipment to support manufacturing of clinical and commercial product(s). Participate in the development and evaluation of technologies to improve cost effectiveness and product quality. Provide assistance in engineering, design, testing and validation of equipment efforts.
Experimentation & Development Testing ? Performs experiments and development testing to evaluate potential process improvements. Makes detailed observations, collects data, analyzes and interprets results. Keeps accurate and timely records. Prepares protocols and technical reports. Performs assays to characterize the process and demonstrate effect/impact of process improvements or new equipment.
Equipment and Prototype Evaluations ? Participates in new process/equipment design, specifications, prototyping, and evaluation/characterization. Assists in collaborations with consultants and vendors to reengineer and implement new manufacturing processes. Technology Transfer ? Assists in streamlining procedures for compliance with regulatory standards. Assists in the efficient and cost effective transition of processes from development to manufacturing. Assists with equipment and process validation to facilitate technology transfer to manufacturing.
Lab Support ? Assists in laboratory equipment maintenance to ensure equipment is calibrated and ready for use. Assists in ensuring supplies are ordered and readily available to facilitate experimental activities.
Confidentiality ? Ensure that information and documentation pertaining to Argos Therapeutics, Inc. is treated as confidential information and handled appropriately as confidential information.
Safety ? Perform all job functions and responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner. Ensure compliance of co-workers with all safety policies and procedures at all times.
Supports assay development efforts by providing test material.
Other duties as required.
Requires a BS or MS degree in a scientific discipline with related industry experience.
Basic aseptic technique required. Experience with PCR and other molecular biology techniques and/or cell culture required.
Experience with molecular biology and/or cellular assays is required.
Working knowledge of closed processing and automation is preferred.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Flexibility on work schedules and duties.
Ability and willingness to be regularly, predictably and reliably at work.
