The Process Development Engineer will create new processes and improve existing processes used in the manufacture of PV panels. This person will use experience and scientific discovery methods to increase panel efficiency and line yield while developing approaches to reducing process time. Responsibilities will include:
- Knowledge of current industry standards and practices for their specified process and familiarity with future trends.
- Development and implementation of designed experimental plans.
- Collaboration with Manufacturing and Equipment Engineers to resolve process issues and eliminate routine failures.
- Collaboration with Equipment Design Engineers on hardware and software capabilities for next generation equipment
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have previous experience with developing PV processes for the purpose of high volume manufacturing and will show competence in the following:
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
o JMP Statistical Software
- Project Management Procedures
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Understanding of manufacturing equipment and process iterative optimization
Job Qualifications:
- Advanced science or engineering degree
- 5 years of experience in the development/design of thin film PV, LCD, FPD, or semiconductor circuits, especially in mechanical and laser scribing processes
- Strong ability to modeling, test, and optimize monolithic integrated circuit structure
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with JMP Statistical Software will be considered a plus
- Outstanding writing and verbal skills
- Outstanding collaborative skills; strong ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team for process development
