PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER Cobalt Biofuels
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER, DISTILLATION / SEPARATION UNIT OPERATIONS
The successful candidate will be responsible for downstream distillation and separation unit operations for Cobalt projects including all aspects of process and equipment design. Furthermore, the successful candidate shall successfully implement these designs using best safety and design practices.
Design distillation process and equipment; specifically reboiler/condenser, tray and packaging specification, pinch analysis and VLE data regression.
Implement Process Safety Management, including P&ID reviews, PHA, MOC and PSSR; apply good safety and environment practices in all recommendations.
Review and refine process simulation using ASPEN.
Develop capital investment projects and process design packages for implementation.
Prepare specifications, drawings, bid packages, quotation analysis and other applicable documents for purchase, construction and repair of distillation equipment.
BS Chemical Engineering, MS preferred.
5 - 8 years relevant chemical plant operations experience (oil & gas, chemicals, corn or cellulosic ethanol, pulp & paper industries).
Distillation process and equipment design experience.
Demonstrated ability to commercialize and optimize novel processes.
Experience working with Process Safety Management and ASPEN simulation software.
Practical ability to turn know-how into practice.
Motivated, self starter with excellent communication, planning, prioritization, organization skills and adaptable to new challenges.
Some travel required.
Lead project engineer; feasibility through design, construction, start up and closeout phases.
Heterogeneous catalysis process and reactor design.
Major drying and evaporation unit operations.
Gas processing (hydrogen C02).
Plant start up and operations.
