Process Operator I-Heparin Wet Scientific Protein Laboratories

An opening exists to fill the position of Process Operator I - Heparin, reporting to Marv Maier and Krissy Marth. Under direct supervision, this position will be responsible for performing all activities necessary to manufacture SPL crude Heparin according to cGMPs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Learn, understand, and apply company Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety practices, and other pertinent material through films, reading, and on-the-job training to produce high quality products safely.
2. Understand and follow all written procedures in Manufacturing Instructions, SOPs, and cGMPs and safety practices.
3. Maintain work areas in a clean and sanitary condition according to SOPs.
4. Maintain written records of cleaning logs, equipment tags, MIs and other pertinent records as the work is performed.
5. Follow written protocols for requisitioning supplies from the warehouse.
6. Unload incoming trucks of raw material.
7. Load out trucks of waste material.
8. Works with acids, caustics and other chemicals and use PPE.
9. Must be knowledgeable on basic mathematics, be able to use a calculator to perform simple calculations and must be able to learn the metric system
10. Carries out duties with a sense of immediacy. Must be proactive to assure strong regulatory competence posture.
11. Perform other duties as needed.
JOB STANDARDS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Standards: Lifting bags of 0-50 lbs. on a regular basis, and on occasion up to 75 lbs. Job requires standing, bending, walking, squatting, twisting, kneeling, crouching, grasping, reaching upward and outward, pushing and pulling and climb ladders. Must be capable of moving heavy drums.
Standards: Must be able to work overtime and on weekends, if necessary. Good attendance is expected. Must be able to perform mathematical calculations, good reading and writing skills, be able to follow instructions and pay attention to details. Must be able to do metric conversions with a high value product.
