Workday is looking for a Procurement Technology Vendor Management/Strategic Sourcing to join the Technical Operations team. You will be responsible for developing strategic spend management programs for those areas, including personally conducting RFPs, negotiating prices, terms, and conditions for all technology vendors used by Technology Operations.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate success in developing long term vendor management strategy, reducing costs and improving supplier performance. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing best-in-class global sourcing strategies, building world-class teams and instituting systems and processes that deliver results.
You should have a broad understanding of various spend categories but also technical understanding of Compute, Network & Data Center spend categories for success.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
⢠Clear understanding of category management / strategic sourcing as a professional discipline, with particular focus on technology purchasing
⢠Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing standards and strategies, policies, and procedures. Implements guidelines or standards from which vendors should be selected; recommend additions to and deletions from the vendor database as appropriate
⢠Conduct negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best cost in order to ensure end-users needs are met; negotiate delivery, terms, conditions, and pricing; and identify future purchasing opportunities to further purchasing strategies
⢠Lead the development, distribution, analysis, and presentation of RFIs and RFPs
⢠Develop and manage supplier performance scorecards, audit company-wide spending to identify areas of opportunity for cost savings
⢠Working knowledge of legal terminology / contract law with the ability to draft basic contracts, negotiate standard form contracts and manage the signature / approval process
⢠Demonstrate excellence in managing internal customers with excellent collaboration skills, strong listening skills and naturally inclusive in decision-making environments
⢠Create and update Policies and Procedures for Enterprise Purchasing
⢠Adhere and enhance all corporate standards, strategies, policies, and procedures

The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with larger enterprise hardware and software vendors
Requirements:
⢠10+ years experience in technology procurement/vendor management of a high-tech, high growth environment
⢠Bachelorâs degree required in business administration or technical discipline; Masterâs degrees preferred
⢠CPSM (CPM) certification preferred
⢠Leader with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
⢠Possess a positive attitude, excellent communication and analytical skills
⢠Demonstration of critical thinking, ability to question the output of a financial model and consider options for improvement
⢠Proactive, result oriented, with a can-do attitude in meeting critical deadlines
