We're looking for a Product Design Mechanical Engineer to develop mechanical solutions for new Meraki products across the product portfolio. You will be responsible for upholding Meraki's value of the end-to-end user experience and will integrate your passion for product design with your spirit as a "do-er" to deliver a great product. You will enjoy a diversity of challenges including but not limited to: industrial design explorations, human factors design, CAD design, DFM, reliability, supply base engineering and more. This position combines numerous roles typically found at other companies. It is a great opportunity to horizontally manage and solve techincal challenges in all phases of development and production across numerous product lines.
? Design explorations, detailed CAD design and prototyping throughout development
? Research into materials, coatings and manufacturing processes
? Manage partner mechanical and tooling resources from development through production release
? Part/Assembly tolerancing for gaps, offsets and process control
? Part and product design validation and reliability testing
? Production release of mechancial components (solve those last hardware bugs that affect the fit and finish)
? Dynamic understanding of design processes from concept to production
? Critical thinker with appetite for problem solving
? Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
? Minimum two years experience
? Strong CAD skills
? Surfacing experience
? Electro-Mechanical enclosure assembly design experience
? Travel to Taiwan about 15% (typically 5 to 10 day stints, really!)
? Studied or familiar with industrial design concepts
? Design firm experience
? Masters degree
? SolidWorks expertise
? Direct work with manufacturers
? Knowledge of many manufacturing processes: injection, stamping, die casting, coatings, anodizing, machining, etc.
