Product Development Engineer
Reporting to the NPI Program Manager, this position will define and implement product processing changes and introductions for Bridgelux products as well as oversee production yields.
â€¢ Work with product development and test groups to develop and implement robust Led based systems.
â€¢ Responsible for definition of requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and control of engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as some independent judgment.
â€¢ Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs.
â€¢ Implements engineering changes.
â€¢ Perform data analysis and characterization for comparison to requirements.
â€¢ Evaluate new and tested assemblies & components in order to understand failure modes and mechanisms.
â€¢ Analyze data, present findings, issue technical engineering reports & make recommendations for product performance, reliability & durability improvements.
â€¢ Releases parts and subsystems for production.
â€¢ At least 2-3 years component design development and release experience Ability to analyze and interpret complex data; including test definition and protocol development.
â€¢ Experience with complex technical projects across multiple disciplines.
â€¢ Organized with strong attention to detail; good time management skills; self motivated & hands on.
â€¢ Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
â€¢ High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
â€¢ High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
â€¢ Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
â€¢ System integration experience a plus.
â€¢ Foundation in engineering tradeoffs and risk analysis a plus.
â€¢ Gets the big picture but able to seamlessly dive into the details.
â€¢ Background in materials and material compatibility a definite plus.
â€¢ Familiarity with Phase Gate processes a plus.
â€¢ Education and Training: BS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
