Product Development Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the NPI Program Manager, this position will define and implement product processing changes and introductions for Bridgelux products as well as oversee production yields.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with product development and test groups to develop and implement robust Led based systems.
• Responsible for definition of requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and control of engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as some independent judgment.
• Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs.
• Implements engineering changes.
• Perform data analysis and characterization for comparison to requirements.
• Evaluate new and tested assemblies & components in order to understand failure modes and mechanisms.
• Analyze data, present findings, issue technical engineering reports & make recommendations for product performance, reliability & durability improvements.
• Releases parts and subsystems for production.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• At least 2-3 years component design development and release experience Ability to analyze and interpret complex data; including test definition and protocol development.
• Experience with complex technical projects across multiple disciplines.
• Organized with strong attention to detail; good time management skills; self motivated & hands on.
• Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
• High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
• System integration experience a plus.
• Foundation in engineering tradeoffs and risk analysis a plus.
• Gets the big picture but able to seamlessly dive into the details.
• Background in materials and material compatibility a definite plus.
• Familiarity with Phase Gate processes a plus.
• Education and Training: BS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
