PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (AUDIO) Belkin Corporation
What you?ll do
As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for product development and management of new product introductions with a major focus on Audio, Video and entertainment products/services for Smart Phone, Tablet and Laptop solutions from ideation to production; including the specific product mix, product families, and ongoing evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed or eliminated. You will also be responsible for driving the schedule, cost, and quality for your products. You will lead multiple small, mid and large programs from concept through First Customer Ship, following Belkin?s Product Development processes. The job involves frequent interaction with internal cross-functional team members, division executive staff members, partners and vendors, sales account teams and occasionally, end customers. The work scope will include, but is not limited to, management of the program design, execution, and test activities, product introduction, and post product delivery support. You will possess the ability to promote collaborative decision-making, provide direction and establish a big sense of urgency in the program team. Must be able to objectively evaluate risks to program objectives and be comfortable making difficult technical decisions, as well as deal with a certain degree of ambiguity and is capable of making sound business decisions with minimal guidance.
Ensure that the assigned product line/s is/are recognized as the best line by resellers and end users in the industry for value, quality, selection, innovation, features, reliability and ease of use.
How you?ll do it
Partner with PMM team to translate Consumer Insights, sales data, regional/specific store needs into PRD?s/Product Briefs for the IDG team.
Responsible for the creation of a PRD (product requirement document) format that serves cross functional team needs. Determine product specifications and features of assigned products.
Work with cross functional teams to transition products from concept to product specifications to commercialization, insuring that all details are in compliance with Belkin standards.
Coordinate development projects and vendors by aligning with Program Management, Purchasing and IDG to determine product development schedules and responsibilities and ensure they are met.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent programs (usually at different stages of the life cycle)
What you?ve done
Manage programs involving cross-functional disciplines of Design, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Finance in a matrix management organization.
Deliver programs under budget, resource and time constraints established in the program plan.
Create risk management list and contingency plans. Decide upon and execute contingency plans, when required.
Report program status to multi-tiered audiences composed of team, peers, BU directors and executive staff audiences.
Programs may involve a mix of in-bound OEM/ODM, remote development and support teams, internal development and support teams.
What you?ll need
Minimum 4 years of experience in product development and creation preferably with audio background in the consumer electronics industry.
Proven, excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project
Proficiency in PLM toolkit software (Oracle?s Agile) a plus
Motivated self-starter with high attention to detail
Previous experience working in an international organization is a plus
Curious, driven and respectful
Bachelor Degree with an engineering concentration or equivalent experience preferred
