What We?re Looking For:
The Product Development Manager for Semester Online will be a pivotal role in redefining what undergraduate education is today. This person will be a senior product expert who will leverage his/her understanding of online education and a vision for making great educational products. This person will have great analytical skills, the ability to think in technology and data and know how to work in complex data sets.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of student information systems (SIS), a proven track record in building successful systems that exchange data and information and knowledge of product marketing, particularly using mobile technology. This individual will work closely with the internal 2U teams -- content development, marketing, operations and technology -- to create the world?s best online educational programs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Consolidate input from the business stakeholders, and help craft a vision around which a new program will be built
Leverage our existing 2U infrastructure, as well as suggesting new features and technology integrations, to help design future programs
Drive a set of solutions across all 2U functions from conception to implementation by developing a business case, use cases, data dictionaries and flows
Create flow charts, write detailed functional specifications and think in user stories
Create and communicate vision for assigned product across the team and the organization
Work alongside the engineering team to set development priorities, define and implement a product roadmap through initial launch and subsequent releases
Explore new technologies, service integrations and features to help further the development of designated products and programs
Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role:
Candidates who possess both higher education/higher education technology and product management backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply
Understanding of the various systems in use in Higher Education outside the LMS (SIS, other campus systems)
A keen eye for usability of learning systems and learning content
Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Salesforce (or other CRM system)
Ability to command respect from a highly skilled engineering team
Ability to think in workflows
Strong sense of ownership
Excellent communication & organizational skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment
Ability to travel as needed, up to 25%
