Product Engineer QD Vision
As a technical member of the product development team, the Product Engineer will lead and own product development from concept to product launch.
Responsibilities
Lead development of product specification working with customers, translating product specifications into key component specification for internal component manufacturing functions
Planning and performing product testing to ensure product meets all customer specifications
Develop and execute verification and validation plans and protocols associated with product/process quality according to ISO requirements
Lead key initiatives to improve product performance
Develop product release criteria to ensure all products comply with all customer specifications and tolerances
Lead in the creation of DFMEA and drive incorporation of necessary actions into designs
Incorporate Six Sigma principles in product analyses (DOE, acceptance criteria, sampling, root cause analysis, control charts, capability analysis, etc.)
Manage product design control and support to ECN process in compliance with quality system; point person for product design history records
Lead projects and mentor junior engineers in the organization
Interface with cross-functional and project team members smoothly and help drive solutions to project-related issues
Manage the content and messages to customers regarding product related issues; act as liaison for any customer evaluations, product inspections, audits
Perform investigations for product design-related quality/conformance to requirements issues and lead corrective actions as pertinent
Be an advocate for continuous improvement of quality
Able to incorporate ISO, ASTM and other appropriate industry standards throughout the product life cycle
Assist customers in product usage issues or customer testing of product
Requirements
BS in EE, ME, Physics, Applied Physics with 3-5 years of work experience, preferably 3+ years as product engineer
Prior experience working with LEDs
Working knowledge of color science
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute on plan
High level of comfort in using statistical tools including design of experiments
Detail and timeline focused
Self starter, results oriented
Established oral and written communication skills enabling successful interaction with international customers
