The position is an excellent 18 ? 24 month opportunity for an internal candidate looking for a highly visible, lynchpin role to provide a broad perspective on Ping Identity?s entire business. The successful person will improve Ping Identity?s competitive win ratio and earn valuable experience and executive team support for new responsibilities.

Job Functions
The Analyst is responsible for
Analyzing Win / Loss quantitatively and anecdotally
Researching competitive companies to understand their motivation, customer perception, capabilities, strategies, and likely future actions
Developing, communicating, and implementing competitor specific product, sales and marketing strategies and tactics with functional leaders.
Engaging with customers and prospects in competitive selling situations to assist Sales and Partner teams.
Establish a standardized, methodical process to organize information, research, and sources in order to support analysis.
Identify areas of tactical and strategic importance to the company that can benefit from the Competitive Strategist program; Shape collection requirements to support the identified priorities.

Leading Ping Identity?s Competitive Strategy Efforts
Develop, communicate, and implement competitor specific product, sales and marketing strategies and tactics with functional leaders.
Research competitive companies to understand their motivation, customer perception, capabilities, strategies, and likely future actions
Work with product management to ensure technical comparisons are current on prioritized competitors
Work with product marketing to ensure sales enablement resources and competitive campaigns are effective
Improving Competitive Win:Loss Ratios
Analyzing Win / Loss quantitatively and anecdotally
Engaging with customers and prospects in competitive selling situations to assist Sales and Partner teams.
Create and present in company and sales training, high-impact internal materials that clearly communicate the value and unique advantage of Ping Identity versus competitors
Develop competitive ?Win? strategies for strategic accounts in collaboration with Sales
Defining Competitive Intelligence Practices
Establish a standardized, methodical process to organize information, research, and sources in order to support analysis.
Identify areas of tactical and strategic importance to the company that can benefit from the Competitive Strategist program; Shape collection requirements to support the identified priorities.
Analysis & Metrics
Conduct, present, and maintain an analysis of the IAM industry in order to establish a common picture for strategic assessment and planning
Analyze competitors? behavior, capabilities, their most likely course of action, and their most threatening courses of action in order to better anticipate their strategic moves
Identify competitive threats to Ping Identity?s current year operating plan and multi-year vision
Analyze win and loss information in Salesforce and with Sales teams for addressable patterns
Investigate and document key competitor business and product capabilities, refreshing them frequently and presenting them to execs and sales staff in regular meetings
Culture & Collaboration
Initiate and help execute competitive campaigns with Product Marketing and Market Leaders
Provide guidance and expertise to Product Marketing on competitive sales tools for use in customer engagements by sales and partners.
Equip Enterprise and other Market Play owners with competitive expertise and materials.
Coordinate closely with CTO office, product management, development, marketing programs, marketing communications, sales teams, services organization, and executives to ensure the awareness and use of competitive knowledge.
Desired Qualifications
Understanding of the information technology software market, with experience in Security, Identity and Access Management, Strong Authentication, identity bridge, identity-as-a-service, and/or PKI markets required
In-depth familiarity with Ping Identity is desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with co-workers and external stakeholders
Experience in developing effective and creative product marketing collateral, such as Web content, data sheets, and white papers
Be able to work with a variety of applications and tools including Salesforce, Marketo, Excel, and others
Preferably located in Denver or Boston areas
Ability to travel, up to 25% (initially more)
