Job Description: Product Management Intern
You're a rare bird. Equally left and right brained, you love geeking out over massive data problems as much as you enjoy the visual design and UX of a beautiful infographic or chart. Your signed Tufte books occupy a special place in your socially awkward shrine and nothing excites you quite as much as turning raw data into an elegant story. As part of our Product Management team, you'll imagine new ways to visualize complex and massive amounts of information and build prototypes that make our customers smile.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
We're looking for someone who wants to dig into how customers use Splunk, take data analysis to a whole new level, and in the process help define the product vision that changes how our customers look at the world.
Requirements: I've already done that or have that!
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience with data: understanding it, collecting it, analyzing it, and presenting it
- Experience coding for the Web, using CSS, HTML and JavaScript
- Familiarity with data visualization technologies (extra points if you're comfortable with tools like D3, Protovis, and Tableau)
Education: Got it!
Currently pursuing a BA/BS or MA/MS/MBA or PhD in a field relevant or related to technology (CS, EE, Applied Mathematics, Psychology, Information Science, Business Administration, Marketing, etc.)
