Business Operations
Summary
The Switchfly Product Manager, Air, Car and Payment will be based in San Francisco, CA and will be responsible for advancing an industry best travel software product. With a wide ranging set of responsibilities from in-depth analysis of customer requests, to writing flawless requirements documentation, to managing complex operational processes, this person will help the Product Director Air, Car and Payment further accelerate a high growth product line within Switchfly.
This role is primarily about software project execution ? adding great new features to a world-class travel technology platform. Experience has proven successful Switchfly Product Managers share the characteristics below:
Key Candidate Characteristics
Curiosity about and passion for travel, especially online leisure travel shopping and booking tools.
Takes pride in crafting great software requirements full of helpful examples, flowcharts, mockups, and use cases.
An appetite for detail ? at ease sifting through API documentation and XML log files.
Comfortable acceptance testing new features to ensure high product quality.
Enjoys working closely with small teams of software engineers and QA testers.
Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills.
Works effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Manage the product development lifecycle in coordination with the Product Director Air, Car and Payment
Collaborate with enterprise clients and product team members to design new features.
Write functional design specification documents for engineering consumption
Lead both agile and waterfall process engineering project teams
Conduct market research and competitive analysis that identifies areas to improve product
Performance and flexibility
Interact comfortably with a geographically diverse set of customers
Resolve client support issues quickly and accurately
Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, very responsible, and passionate about exceeding expectations.
Bachelor?s degree with 2-4 years relevant work experience.
Desired experience with any of the following technologies is a plus
Flight shopping and booking (fares, availability, PNR, Sabre, Amadeus, ITA Software)
Car rental shopping and booking web services
Payment service providers (Cybersource, GlobalCollect
