Summary of Responsibilities:
Ellie Mae product managers are responsible for the success of Ellie Mae mortgage automation software products from inception through development and release, continuing with ongoing maintenance and enhancement. Product managers proactively work with customers and prospects to incorporate product feedback with their in-depth knowledge of changing mortgage industry and technology trends. They work to ensure Ellie Mae products exceed the needs of our customers and remain the most innovative in the industry. Further, they work with multiple teams at Ellie Mae to ensure our customers are aware of and trained on new products and product enhancements.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:
Proactively work with customers, prospects, the sales organization, and the professional services organization to identify new features and enhancements.
Convert market opportunities and enhancements to smaller, detailed user stories that developers, user experience, and quality assurance resources can digest.
Prioritize enhancement backlog to optimize customer satisfaction and prospect take rate.
Maintain up to date knowledge regarding mortgage industry and technology trends as well as the Ellie Mae product line.
Evangelize your product area among customers, prospects, and colleagues.
Define clear value proposition statements and assist with competitive analyses.
Act as top tier support for your product area.
Work in lock step with product marketing to ensure your products are marketed, with training to ensure appropriate courses and collateral are created, and sales to provide them sufficient insight to position your product with customers and prospects.
Qualifications, Skills and Education:
3 or more years as a software product manager or business analyst required. Mortgage technology experience preferred.
Experience with automated underwriting engines, product and pricing engines, or other business rule management systems (ie, ILOG) preferred.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to influence cross-functional teams to meet product goals.
Must be a detail-oriented self-starter. The ideal candidate can start with little guidance, refine and detail the initial idea, build out a detailed implementation plan, and lead teams to deliver on the vision.
BS degree in business, computer science, or an engineering discipline required.
Experience managing products in an agile development environment preferred.
