As a Zipcar Product Manager, you will work with our Global Product & Experience and Engineering teams assigned to an area or initiative that may span member experience, products, technical areas and/or supporting operational areas across various channels ? mobile, car, web, member services and more. The role is based in Boston and is a combination of agile product owner, customer researcher, and interaction designer.
We obsess about the whole member experience and we work hard every day to make improvements for our members. It's also a bit selfish, since we're also all members and we are building the service that we love to use.
We're looking for a customer-focused team-player who wants to help design and build the best global car sharing experience, enjoy making complexity into simplicity, can handle stakeholders across the business, works well with engineers, and aren?t afraid to figure out the root cause and optimal solutions to a problem or opportunity and not just accept someone's initial analysis.
3+ years in a product or customer experience role preferred
Proven ability to plan, manage and follow through with both small and large projects and meet deadlines
Ability and desire to find simple and elegant solutions, whether with technology, policy, or design to support great experiences
Comfortable working with a variety of people and functions ? engineering, analytics, member services, UX, operations and others
Experience with Agile methodologies ? experienced Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Agile certifications - a big plus
A passion to make customer-focused improvements in a product or service
The mindset to see usability problems everywhere and create simple, elegant solutions from the customer perspective
The ability to work well with others, even those you disagree with.
Self-directed & high energy
Experience working in a consumer or technology company a plus
Bonus points if you are a Zipcar member
Degree in human factors, business, UX , computer science, software engineering or product design/development preferred
