Overview:
The Product Manager will be a member of a small project team that creates our enterprise wide procurement applications. This Product Delivery Team adheres to agile software development principles throughout all phases of the software development process ? gathering and reviewing user requirements, database and application design, development, testing, internal and external customer training and product rollout.
The Product Manager, in particular, is responsible for the detailed vision of components of the SelectSite/HigherMarkets product. Specifically, the PM takes input from company strategy, marketing, customers, and sales to prioritize product features. The PM then acts as a subject matter expert for the development teams as product development progresses. The PM bridges product marketing, product roadmap, and development to ensure that the product meets the company's overall strategy and financial goals.
Principal Responsibilities:
Gathers information from customers through one-on-one conversations, focus groups, and user group meetings.
Works with a cross-company team to prioritize product features and scenarios.
Owns the ?product backlog? list of user stories for a project and conducts sprint planning and review sessions.
Builds user scenarios with required details for product development.
Ensures product consistency.
Conducts hands-on usability studies with customers.
Produces documentation to support product development and launch.
Position Requirements:
Proven knowledge and skills in business process, workflow analysis and design is required.
Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate customer needs in the form of user stories.
Strong documentation, oral and written communications skills required.
Ability to interact professionally with clients and solicit their input for potential requirements and design features is needed.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance multiple ongoing responsibilities and appropriately communicate issues a must.
Understanding of software development lifecycle and how to interact with developers is a must.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years experience preferred.
