As an Availity Clinical Market Manager, you are responsible for defining and leading market growth strategy in support of our clinical and corporate strategy. Based on that strategy, you will lead the Market Development Life cycle activities for the Clinical Portfolio focused on the growth, maturity and saturation (end of life) phases of the product?s market lifecycle. Ultimately you are responsible for increasing the market share and profitability of existing products and/or influencing new products that drive market share growth.
In this role, you will utilize your industry experience, deep market knowledge and your contact with customers and prospects to deliver product solutions. You will serve as the internal and external evangelist for your portfolio and market as the managing executive and collaborator across all areas of the company.
A market manager's role is both strategic and operational. As the strategic leader, you establish the vision for your product, communicate the vision, and ensure stakeholder alignment to that vision throughout the Market Development Life cycle. As the operational ?orchestra leader?, you must be able to work in a matrix environment, driving accountability for execution of all phases of the life cycle, without being directly involved in the day-to-day work of product development.

Understand the Market
Develop an understanding of the market segment and competitive environment;
Stay in tune with any market forces or business drivers that would be influential to future markets.
Evaluate competitive services by taking hands on approach to understanding key attributes/features/distribution of competitive products
Collaborate with market research and Product Management to strategize, plan, and prioritize market and product research that identify and define opportunities to support and grow business.
Identify critical market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research and conduct on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Successfully engage the customers with Sales and perform discovery
Participate in or may lead advisory councils made up of front-line operational users of the product
Perform market discovery to identify market problems
Maintain market presence (regular contact with customers/non-customer)
Talk with customers at user group meetings about trends in market/products
Identify Market Opportunity
Identify market opportunities for assigned product as described:
Identify new healthcare business growth opportunities through a detailed understanding of key market/customer trends and competitor strategies
Identify trends from market research.
Synthesize market insights to proactively identify business opportunities, threats, and challenges
Work with Marketing, Sales and Product Management to define customer and market segmentation, and develop and validate business model
Assess market potential and determine priorities for the right segment/targets
Derive recommendations for input into strategic planning and product development.
Participate in cross-functional teams to plan for new products.
Influence the Product Strategy & Roadmap
Influence the clinical portfolio strategy as described:
Collaborate with Product Management to align the product roadmap with the defined market and portfolio strategy; ensure alignment of assigned products with portfolio, unit and corporate goals/strategies
In concert with senior product management, develop the strategic business plan capitalizing on future market needs and opportunities.
Assist with pricing strategies for healthcare related products and services.
In concert with senior product management, provide market validated input to the product roadmap that addresses market demands and surpasses the relevant competition to achieve long term financial goals for Availity.
Set revenue and market share goals for the clinical portfolio within your market segment.
Develop and Launch Products to the Market
Assist with product development and launch for product as described:
Ensure product development activities are aligned with product roadmap priorities. Collaborate with Product Owner on scope/vision for product, negotiate delivery commitments and expectations.
Assist Marketing in the Development of a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
Provide product and market information to assist all sales channels in presenting Availity?s offerings.
Participate in actual sales calls for customers or prospects for market information gathering or as a SME.
Use knowledge of customers to help Sales steer customers to appropriately delivery channels, products, and services
Contribute to Line of Business/P&L
Manage assigned product as described:
Collaborate to Understand and report out on P&L performance for product
Maintain Key Performance Indicators for assigned product
Manage market segment programs (revenue, expense, profitability) and complexity
Prepare market segment business plans and financial models.
Ensure appropriate escalation paths are in place to resolve issues
Prepare and/or present materials for a successful monthly business review, SLT meetings, Board meetings, All Employee meetings, etc.
Work with all stakeholders to ensure targets are achieved.
Evaluate Partnership Opportunities
Identify potential partner relationships for the product as described:
Identify areas of pursuit for partnership opportunities
Evaluate market and product fit of third party products
Recommend build/buy/partner decisions
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
Product Management Experience
Two (2) or more years of healthcare industry experience
Previous experience directly managing feature set enhancements within a release
Project Leadership Experience
Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions in a matrix environment
Proven track record of successfully leading teams to achieve business objectives
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred)
Four (4) or more years of healthcare industry experience
Experience working in a Pragmatic Marketing or Strategic Selling role.
Experience working in an entrepreneurial company or entrepreneurial environment
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
Bachelor?s degree in Business, Technology or a related discipline.
NOTE: 2 -4 years of relevant work experience may serve as an equivalent for the bachelor?s degree.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
Pragmatic Marketing Certification
Professional Credentials in HealthCare (HIMSS, HFMA, MPH, MHA, RHIA, etc.)
