About the Role:
WhaleShark Media is looking for a rockstar Product Manager, Community to lead the development of market-leading products, features, programs and content for our RetailMeNot user community. At WhaleShark, our community is our lifeblood and we are looking for an aggressive, resourceful and creative product manager to help us create the most engaged and active user community in all of e-commerce.
In collaboration with senior executives, key internal stakeholders and users themselves, the product manager will help define our Community roadmap and then work across functions-including design, engineering, marketing, operations, business intelligence and customer service-to execute it. Candidates must be adept at thinking big while realizing that success is often the result of excellent execution and the close management of every milestone and detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and demonstrable experience with online communities, rewards systems, social games and social networks.
--Collaborate with the CRM team and senior executives to create the overall Community strategy and product roadmap
--Lead end-to-end product development process
--Write clear and concise requirements and user stories , prioritize development items and coordinate schedules with design and engineering teams
--Collaborate with other product owners to ensure cross-platform integration of key community features and initiatives
--Partner with marketing, editorial and operations to develop programming and produce/procure content for the community
--Partner with CRM team on creation and execution of community outreach, engagement and retention programs
--Report to executive team on Community performance and KPIs
--Serve as Community platform evangelist and internal subject matter expert
--5+ years product management experience with direct ownership over community products and features for large, community-driven web sites
--Proven experience growing engagement and user interactions of an online community
--Experience delivering on membership, revenue and ROI goals of a community program
--Experience with rewards programs
--Experience with usability testing, web analytics and data-driven decision making
--Strong visual design and user experience sensibilities
--Strong project management and organizational skills
--Excellent interpersonal , communication and presentation skills
--Comfortable working under pressure with aggressive deadlines
--Deep knowledge of internet, social media and community trends
