located at offices in Dallas TX and Wellesley MA.
Placemark develops, implements and supports wealth solutions, including Unified Managed Account
platforms and retirement solutions for broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, banks and
family offices. As the separate account industry?s leading independent overlay portfolio manager,
Placemark coordinates multiple investment vehicles such as separately managed accounts, mutual
funds and ETFs into a single customized portfolio.

Much of the Company?s business originates with broker/dealer sponsors for whom Placemark is the
overlay manager in the sponsor?s proprietary UMA platform. In addition, in 2010 we developed and
launched UMA Marketplace, an open architecture UMA platform for independent advisors and
managers seeking effective distribution in an independent RIA market. Placemark believes the retail
investment management industry is in the early stages of a period of significant product innovation,
and that UMA Marketplace is a key element of the firm?s growth plans for the near future. To
augment the portfolio management capabilities of UMA Marketplace, the Company launched an
online community for industry professionals called BeyondAlpha? in 2013. In tandem,
BeyondAlpha and UMA Marketplace create a unique environment for entrepreneurial advisor
business-owners to learn, network and implement solutions for their clients while concurrently
providing significant growth opportunities for Placemark and its shareholders.
Reporting to the SVP Product Management, you will be responsible for managing all functional
aspects of the BeyondAlpha, UMA Marketplace and Placemark.com public facing platforms. You
will develop and maintain a detailed understanding of customer and market needs as well as
emerging technologies, best practices and trends in community-building and online marketing.
The Community Platform Manager will be a change agent who masters current community platform
technologies, identifies feature and functionality opportunities, defines the platform roadmap, seeks best solutions, and drives implementation with a passion for action and technical innovation. Your
core focus will be to define and drive the strategy for extending the BeyondAlpha community
platform. You will also work regularly with customers and developers to define and prioritize
product requirements and articulate them to both in-house and outsourced technical teams. You will
create and manage the roadmap for these online platforms that defines, prioritizes and makes a
compelling business case for new or enhanced features and functionality. The Product Manager will
provide business leadership and direction to Placemark?s product and technology teams, generating
easily-understood and actionable functional requirements as well as evaluating and resolving
You will determine the functional needs of internal partners, particularly Placemark?s sales team and
BeyondAlpha community manager, and track the online behaviors of external target audiences and
potential community members. You will also perform and oversee acceptance testing of new
functionality, enhancements and fixes.
You will define and drive the coordination and clear communication of the platform roadmap in
conjunction with Product Management team members, working with all ranks and across multiple
groups within the organization, and will also work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide
escalation management, anticipate issues, balance business needs versus team constraints, and
champion a great customer experience.
To be considered for this position, you must have at least five years? experience in a product
management role, at least some of which will ideally be within the financial services industry. You
will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop high quality functional business requirements and
have extensive knowledge of leading online community and social technologies, strategies and
trends. You will have experience building and maintaining successful online community platforms
and likely have familiarity with multiple software development methodologies including agile.
The successful candidate will be highly analytical with a strong technology aptitude and
demonstrated problem-solving skills and a strong team orientation.
