What you?ll do
As a Product Manager ? Education Vertical, you will be responsible for applying Product Management and Product Development principles, practices and procedures within the organization for the assigned set of products. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with and lead cross-functional, global collaborative groups while managing multiple tasks. The ideal candidate will embrace a strong product background to learn quickly, work efficiently, and meet established program metrics (on-time, on-spec, on-cost).
How you?ll do it
Provide leadership and market expertise for assigned products
Build product specifications and features; validate against primary and secondary research data
Plan, schedule, execute, and track new product development projects from concept phase through post-launch support
Identify, lead, and work with internal and external teams to meet product objectives
Coordinate manufacturing partners and other partners to assure the delivery of all projects within established timelines, cost, and quality metrics
Negotiate contracts, with management approval, with design consultants, design firms, manufacturers, and other suppliers
Prepare budgets and break-even analyses for all new development type projects
What you?ll need
Strong understanding of technology solutions used in educational environments
Proven product leadership and project management skills
Ability to filter, distill, and communicate relevant information for the right audience
Perform well in rapid development cycles; remain flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty
Must be able to fit in well with a team, understand capabilities and priorities while fostering a collaborative environment
5-7 years similar or related work experience within computer or consumer electronics industry
Four-year college degree in related field
Global product management experience and job experience in education field preferred
What you?ve done
Architect and present training materials to cross-functional teams
Understand the channels in which Belkin sells its products through (distribution, VARs, dealers, etc.); track metrics at accounts for assigned product line
Collaborate with Marketing team to develop product packaging, documentation, bulletins, and training material
Perform ongoing market research through direct customer contact, blogs, sales evaluations, monitoring competitors and industry trends, and vendor contact. Update competitor file continuously.
