Description
The Product Manager ? Emerging Products is responsible leading the product strategy and execution on new product areas that are critical for rapid growth of Knovel into markets of choice. This position will play a key role in positioning Knovel as a SaaS/Cloud service provider on engineering information.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Develop detailed product strategies on new growth areas that are identified; be the product management lead on innovation within the growth areas of focus for the company;
Be the champion of the product/functionalities and ensure their success in the marketplace in terms of revenue, customer acquisitions and market perception;
Work closely with marketing, sales and other internal & external stakeholders to identify and validate business/product requirements;
Develop business cases to justify investments;
Develop and execute on roadmap(s) on emerging product initiatives, working in close collaboration with other product managers and internal stakeholders;
Lead build vs. buy vs. partner evaluations on chosen areas, and work closely with other stakeholders in M&A and Business Development activities as needed;
Work closely with marketing, sales and external stakeholders to identify platform lifecycle management needs and maintain product competitive edge;
Required Skills / Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or engineering disciplines; or equivalent experience; MBA preferred;
7+ years of technology Product Management experience in a software or content/media company, 2+ years of that in leading SaaS/Cloud initiatives;
Hands on Software Engineering experience highly preferred.
Strategic thinker and pragmatic executioner;
2+ years of management experience preferred;
Track record of lading product management end-to-end, from concept through launch through lifecycle management in a B2B and/or B2C setting;
A passionate champion of product, technology and business;
Demonstrated success in leading cross functional teams and effective project management and analytical/decision-making skills;
Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and execute on them, including management of budgets;
Excellent communication skills including experience with executives, industry analysts and press required
